Xiaomi's new Mi TV 2S is as thin as its Mi 4 smartphone

Xiaomi has updated its TV line up with the new Mi TV 2S. The TV is currently China exclusive but considering the company's interest in the Indian market, the company may get the new TV to the Indian shores soon enough. The company claims that the new Mi TV 2S is a complete overhaul from the previous iteration and has been redesigned from scratch.


According to a report from Android Authority, this new TV will fall in between the existing 49 inch Mi TV and the 40 inch Mi TV. The USP of the latest addition is its super slim profile. According to the report, the TV's thickness measures a mere 9.9mm with an aluminium frame. At its thickness, it is as slim as the company's Mi 4 smartphone. The company boasts of enhanced picture quality and clarity as compared to other major manufacturers on it as well.

The TV will also come equipped with a quad-core MStar 6A928 SoC that will be supported by 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The TV operates on Android 5.0 and comes pre-loaded with applications like YouKu, BesTV, PPTV and others.

The price of the TV will begin from CNY 2,999 (Roughly Rs 30,500) and the cinema edition will cost CNY 3,999 (Roughly Rs.41,000).

The company also launched a new water purifier that is also priced competitively and will come at price of CNY 1,299 (Roughly Rs.13,300). The company claims that the purifier is efficient and can pure 400 gallons of water in one single day. As of now, the company has not mentioned the availability of the products in India.
