Sony reportedly working on Xperia P2

The Sony Xperia P was launched in May 2012, and has been a dormant series since then. But a new report from Android Community claims that the Sony Xperia P2 is on its way and if the report is to be believed it will be back with a bang.

We also reported that Xperia Z4 might be exclusive to Japan and that the company is planning to release a global version of the phone which might be named differently. We cannot be sure if the alleged Xperia P2 is the one that will be the next global flagship from Sony but according to the rumour it definitely packs a punch.

According to the rumoured specs, Xperia P2 will range between a thickness of 8.9mm to 10.9mm, which is in no way thin by today's standards but there seems to be a legitimate reason behind the unusual thickness. The phone is reported to carry a 4240mAh battery. Which will definitely make up for the thick profile as there is hardly any flagship in the market that can provide backup beyond one day.

The phone might sport a 5.2-inch screen with TRILUMINOS display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Where all this matches the Xperia Z4 launched in Japan, the cameras do not catch up well. The phone comes with a 12 Megapixel primary camera with an f2.3 aperture and a 5.1 Megapixel front snapper. Apart from that the phone easily qualifies as a flagship due to the Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB RAM.

In the image we can witness the stark difference between the Xperia Z4 and Xperia P2, with the latter sporting a much futuristic design; another reason why we can expect this rumoured phone to manage Sony's flagship frontier.
