The Apple Watch has been generating a fair amount of buzz in the tech world lately. And now Apple has been sending emails to developers who wish to get their hands on the device. The mail asks the developers to register for the Blue Sport Band variant of the smartwatch using their registered ids. The number of units will be limited.
The mail was spotted on MacRumors. It said, "We want to help give Apple developers the opportunity to test their WatchKit apps on Apple Watch as soon as it is available. You have the chance to purchase one (1) Apple Watch Sport with 42mm Silver Aluminum Case and Blue Sport Band that's guaranteed to ship by April 28, 2015. This opportunity is offered by random selection and quantities are limited. Register now though April 23 at 10 a.m. PDT. We'll let you know your status on April 23."
Developers who have registered are then given a confirmation of their registration, after which they are randomly selected. Those who have registered might then get the opportunity to purchase the Apple Watch on April 23.
Delivery of the device has been guaranteed by April 28. Although developers won't be getting any price discount, they will be getting the device before regular consumers, which increases the already high snob value of the product. The official launch of the smartwatch is expected to take place in May-June.
